Dr Denise Yu
Great episode. I’m ABC with parents that were immigrants. I could relate to everything Dr. Yu said.

Love. This.
Even after years of working with people from diverse backgrounds and populations in health care, never have I had the opportunity to learn this deeply. Dr. Raj Sundar has put together short, easily digestible and retainable (and repeatable!) and also comprehensive discussions of healthcare from within the cultures being discussed. Fantastic. Thank you.

Very Informative
Love these Podcasts and these are so well done. It’s obvious Dr Sundar puts so much time and effort with this. Thank you! I work in an area that has a very diverse patient population and there are so many barriers to healthcare. These interviews has given me some insight to the diverse community that I serve. Keep ‘em coming!

Praise for Healthcare for Humans
I am a veteran family physician who practices in about as diverse a practice environment as is imaginable and who also has taught family medicine residents for over three decades. This podcast is a "must listen to" for all medical practitioners (physicians and all others), from the clinician to the teacher to the resident and student. It grapples with highly important issues that certainly affect the care of every patient. It can help promote a mindset that will benefit all patients, since all patients are part of the human family. It promotes a curiosity about others that should be a model for all of us. Dr. Sundar is a gentle and engaged interviewer, and he brings out the best in his subjects. I would additionally recommend that the podcast can be used to foster discussion in learning groups, and this will lead to even greater value and understanding.

Beautiful conversations about cultural/community health
This is such a thoughtful, well-researched, and heartening podcast. All of the guests are such great storytellers with an abundance of knowledge to share, and Dr. Raj Sundar guides the conversation to inform both healthcare practitioners and community members alike on the best practices to treat people holistically and recognize others in their full humanity. Strongly recommend this podcast to all healthcare practitioners and anyone interested in cultural and community health.

necessary learning
Very helpful and interesting. I recall wondering about the difference between Chicano and Latinx and, to my surprise, there was an episode about it the next week. I even learned a lot about my own culture that specifically helped me in a difficult patient encounter within the week. It's been a wonderful and painless learning journey. Also very easy to access since I don't like sitting around watching videos so the podcast format is excellent.

How culture and medicine should be taught
This is a podcast that is so needed in medicine! I so wish I had this when I was in medical school and residency. But never too late. Dr Raj Sundar dives into the question of “what is the cross-section of culture and medicine, and what are common sticking points for patients from specific cultural contexts?” The series is full of very human stories and pearls of how physicians can approach problems in a holistic biopsychosocial model and truly take care of a person and not just their diagnoses. It’s the focus on people that what makes this podcast special — and it truly puts the humanity back into the topic of culture in medicine. Truly can’t recommend this podcast enough!

This is how to be human about
This podcast help to put in perspective the practice of medicine and health care in USA with the lens of the "other", the patient. Rug help people to tell stories that questioning the status quo of the audience. Through showing candid vulnerability the participants clearly demonstrate what be human is about. Bravo!

Better humans
Amazed to hear over and over again how similar we humans are. Through highlight our ethnic cultural unique caractheristics help us to discover how much we are alike and how much similar history we share. We are all Humans!

A Beautiful Exploration of Diverse Communities, In Their Own Words
Excited to share this with the trainees and faculty of our family medicine residency in South King. Thank you for turning over the mic to our community leaders to allow us to learn from our neighbors (and patients!)

Interesting take on things
The podcast talked about the problems of the Pacific Islanders and the small percentages how they get overlooked. Interesting take

We need more of this
As a family physician for the past 15 years, nowhere in my formal education was I taught how to specifically treat patients within a cultural context. This podcast provides valuable insight into groups of people who we care for yet probably are not being as effective because we no little about their history, their religion or even the foods they eat. Well done. Look forward to next episodes!
